Use links to tie a dashboard to related lenses and dashboards. This widget is useful when you want to break up analysis across multiple assets, rather than cramming it all into a single dashboard. It’s also useful for creating pathways to analyze your data.
In the dashboard, click the link icon.
In the widget properties, specify the link properties, such as the ones listed here.
Specify whether the link widget leads to a saved lens, saved dashboard, or new lens.
Specify the lens or dashboard asset to link to.
If you try to create a Link widget in a dashboard that has not been saved in Spring ’16 and you don’t see the asset in the picklist, open the asset first, and then look for the asset in the picklist.
Include Dashboard State
When enabled, the selections made in widgets with faceted steps are transferred to the linked lens or dashboard. When transferring dashboard states, Wave Analytics verifies that the destination has lenses that are compatible with the lenses from the source dashboard.
Wave doesn’t transfer a dashboard state in the following cases.
The source lens isn’t faceted.
The destination lens uses a different dataset than the source lens.
When linking to another dashboard, the destination lens uses different groupings than the source lens. If the link destination is a lens, then groupings don’t prevent dashboard state from being transferred.
The link label that you click to access the linked asset.
