Add a Table Widget to Show Record Details and Create Calculated Columns | Salesforce
Use a table widget to show the record-level details in a Wave dashboard. For example, a dashboard shows the average duration for cases to close. To also see which cases have been open the longest, you can add a table. You can also include a table widget to calculate values and display them as new columns.
The table widget requires a step that specifies which columns to include in the table. The step varies depending whether you want to create a values table or compare table. A values table shows the dataset fields as columns. You can choose which fields to show. A compare table shows calculated fields based on the columns available in the table.
By default, the table widget shows up to 100 records. You can show up to 10,000 records. To increase the number of records, change the limit
parameter in the SAQL query. For more information about SAQL queries, see Wave Analytics SAQL Reference
Drag the table widget to the dashboard canvas.
To use an existing step for the widget, drag the step from the step panel and place on top of the widget.
If you don’t see the step panel, click the dashboard header to show it.
To create a step:
Click the button inside the widget to open the wizard.
The Select a Dataset screen appears, showing datasets in the most recently used order.
If you see a bar chart in the explorer instead, Wave selected the dataset that you used to create your previous widget step. To use a different dataset, close the explorer modal and click Create Step
in the step panel.
Select the dataset that contains the columns that you want to include in the table.
The explorer shows a bar chart with the Count of Rows measure.
To make it easier to see which columns you are adding to the table, click and change the chart type to values table or compare table.
Use a compare table if you want to add calculated columns. You can also show dataset fields as columns in a compare table. Use the values table if you want only dataset fields to show up as table columns. You can’t add calculated columns to a values table.
Add columns to the table.
If needed, click Filter to filter the records included in the table.
You can add multiple filters.
The widget shows the results in the table. Wave adds the step to the steps panel.
To change the widget and step properties, click the widget.
The Widget panel groups the widget properties into sections. So that you don’t accidentally overlook some properties, note that some sections might be collapsed, by default. To expand or collapse a section, click the arrow next to the section header.
Set the widget properties to customize the appearance of the widget.
To show and set the step properties, click Step in the panel.
To preview your changes to the dashboard, click .
To save your changes to the dashboard, click .
If you close the dashboard without saving it, you lose your changes.
