Consider these items before setting up Notes, the enhanced version of the Salesforce note-taking tool.

- After Notes is enabled for your organization, new notes are created using Notes. Notes created with the old note-taking tool open in the old note-taking tool.
- If you disable Notes, your users can’t access notes that were created with Notes.
- Users with a Partner Portal or Customer Portal license can’t use Notes, they must use the old note-taking tool instead.
- After setting up Notes for Salesforce1, your users can create tasks by swiping lines in a note. If a user’s profile is assigned two or more task record types, they are asked to choose a record type and fill out the task details each time they create a task from a note. If a user’s profile is assigned less than two Task record types, the task is immediately created and the user is not asked for additional details.
