Text Email Template not showing line breaks when template is sent to Outlook users

Description


A text email template sent through Salesforce and received on Outlook removes some line breaks and all text shows in one line. However, once the email is in Outlook it can be forwarded it to another user and it's formatted correctly. Learn how to fix the issue below. 

Resolution


This could be happening because Outlook is configured to remove extra line breaks. To resolve the issue, you'll need to disable the feature in Outlook. 

Disable in Outlook 2007


      1. Open Outlook.
      2. On the "Tools" menu, click Options.
      3. On the "Preferences" tab, click the E-mail Options button.
      4. Click to clear the "Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages" check box.
      5. Click Ok two times.


Disable in Outlook 2010 and 2013


      1. Open Outlook.
      2. On the "File" tab, click Options.
      3. In the "Options" dialog, click Mail.
      4. In the "Message" format section, clear the "Extra line breaks in plain text messages" check box.
      5. Click Ok.
