Why is the recurring Task portion of my Task Edit page displaying as a different record type?

Description

When a Task is created with a Record Type other than the User's Default Record Type, the Recurring Task does not have the same Record Type and some picklist fields do not have values.

Resolution

When a Task is created with a Record Type other than the User's Default Record Type, the Recurring Task will Always default to the User's Default Record Type.

Any Picklist Fields associated with the Default Record Type which are unavailable on the chosen Record Type will not display values on the Recurring Task.

This is due to the Recurring Task being an Automated Process which will, by design, always take the Profile's Default Record Type and the edit page is linked to the chosen Record Type which is why there are no values in the Picklist Fields as these Fields are not available on the chosen Record Type.

If you change the default record type of the user, the Recurring Task would then start showing the same record type and the values would look similar to the ones found in the task.
