How to change the date format for each User

Knowledge Article Number 000004385

You can change how the date format is displayed by updating the "Locale" value that's set on the User record. Learn how below.

Change the Date format from your Personal Profile

1. At the top of any Salesforce page, click the down arrow next to your name. From the menu under your name, select Setup or My Settings—whichever one appears.
2. From the left panel, select one of the following:
If you clicked Setup, select My Personal Information | Personal Information.
If you clicked My Settings, select Personal | Advanced User Details.& Time Zone.
3. Click Edit
4. Change the locale to the desired region.

Good to Know: Changing the locale on the User detail page will affect the language used in the Calendar. However, other areas of the platform will still respect the default language. For example, if your language is set to English (United States) and you update your locale to Dutch, the language on the Calendar will be set to Dutch.
