Outlook send and add button does not work

Issue : Customer is having issues sending and adding emails from Outlook using  Salesforce for Outlook. Every  time user compose a New email and clicks "Send and Add" the button doesn't do anything

NOTE: "Add email" may work correctly

To resolve this issue:

  1. Close Microsoft Outlook
  2. Uninstall the Salesforce for Outlook plug-in 
  3. Go to and make sure you have the most up-to-date java runtime engine
  4. Next, navigate to C:\Windows\system32 and locate the Mapi32.dll file
  5. Rename the Mapi32.dll file, and then in the same folder locate the Fixmapi.exe program
  6. Double-click Fixmapi.exe (or right-click and "Run as Administrator" in Windows 7) to start the repair process.
  7. Nothing would pop up but it will create a new instance of the Mapi32.dll file
  8. Download and install the Salesforce plug-in (Salesforce for Outlook)
  9. Once down with step – 8 above, open Outlook and try to reproduce the issue
