Does the Record owner's Territory affect report visibility?

When Territory Management is enabled  for your organization, all Hierarchy based reports generated from a custom report type will only use the territory hierarchy This cannot be modified as is can within standard report types.

The records displayed within the report's results will be based not only on the level in which the hierarchy is defined, but also will be impacted by the lack of definition of a territory for the record's owner. Please ensure that any record owners present within the system are associated with a Territory to allow their records to be displayed within these reports.


**Note: A user must be part of a territory, but does not need to be active within that territory.
