Why does the Lead History report not display results?

Description  Lead History reports may not display results at times, this behavior happens when "Field Tracking" is not enabled for the Object.

If a lead history report is created, the data will not appear if the "Field Tracking" is not enabled on the object.

The "Field History Tracking" needs to be enabled on the object.


  1. Click on Setup
  2. Customize
  3. Click on Leads
  4. Then click on Fields
  5. Click on "Set History Tracking" button


This must be done if you want to track the history on other objects as well. Please note that this change will allow you to track the history going forward, but will not define past historical changes prior to being set.
