If for importing or other reasons you do not want carriage returns or line breaks in your weekly export files, you have the option to convert carriage returns or line breaks to spaces:
1. Click on:
Setup | Administration Setup | Data Management | Data Export.
2. Select the desired encoding for your export file.
3. Select the "Include attachments..." checkbox if you want your export data to include attachments.
4. Select the "Replace carriage returns with spaces" checkbox if you want to your export file to have spaces instead of carriage returns.
5. Select the types of data to include in your export. If desired, you can include all data in your export file. We recommend that you include all data if you are not familiar with the terminology used for some of the types of data. Formula fields are always excluded from exports. If your organization uses divisions, data from all divisions is included in the export file.
6. Click "Data Export".
Salesforce creates CSV files of your data, zips them into one archive, and emails you when the file is ready. You can follow the link in the email or use the data export link to download a zip file of your backup data. You have 48 hours to download the zip file from this page, after which time it will be deleted.
