How do I turn off the Stay in Touch Reminder when I create a new contact?

The Stay in Touch Reminder can be set by every user individually. Administrators might also use Data Loader to change this setting for more than one user at the same time, keep in mind though that users can change the setting again.

Resolution

The "Stay-in Touch Reminder" pop-up will appear when you enter new contacts in Salesforce. If you would like to turn this pop-up reminder off, you can do so by following the steps below.

  1. Click on Your Name | My Settings | Email | My Stay-in-Touch Settings.
  2. In the Reminder for New Contacts field, select the "No" option button.
  3. Click "Save".

You can also turn off this reminder by clicking the "Don't Show Again" button in the pop-up reminder box the next time you create a contact.

Administrators can change the setting for multiple users at the same time, by using Data Loader to update the User object parameter "EmailPreferencesStayInTouchReminder"
