How do I change the 'from' email when a user receives a case notification email?

Resolution

NOTE: This article applies to the email-to-case agent, not the on-demand version

In order to change who the user receives an email from when they receive a case notification email when an email-to-case is submitted, you must change the default login user in the configuration file.

To do this, you may need to get in touch with the person who originally setup the email-to-case agent and/or someone who currently manages and administers it.

1. Locate and open the salesforce.com config.txt file for the email-to-case agent.

(The default user specified in this file to log into the app will be the person that is listed as the sender on case notification emails.)

2. Change the username and password to the user who you would like to be listed as the sender for the notification emails on cases created via email-to-case.

3. Save the file and restart the Email-to-Case agent.
