Why can I not see the Owner or Record Type fields within my Customer Portal Reports?

Although the record owner and record type fields are displayed to the users on the records within the application, these fields cannot be displayed within a report on the same object.


The restriction to the Owner and Record Type fields within a report is due to the organization sharing settings. These sharing settings restrict access within Portal run reports to only those objects that are set to an Organization Wide Default level of Private. Since neither of these objects (Users, Record Types) can be set to that level they are not able to be included within a report

*This is true for reports that are using a Custom Report Type. The fields are available in Standard Report Types.*
