|Description||When an auto-response rule sends an email to a lead, the email is logged as a task against the lead. However, this is not assigned to the lead owner.|

However the email that gets logged in the activity history is assigned to the default lead creator.
A reason for this is that assignment rules can often assign leads to a queue. As an activity cannot be assigned to a queue, instead all lead auto-response emails are logged against the default lead creator.
