Chatter Desktop error: To access your Chatter data, authorize this application in Salesforce

Description User receive an error using Chatter Desktop:

"To access your Chatter data authorize this application in Salesforce"
Resolution To resolve this issue:  
 
1. Close down Chatter Desktop
2. Navigate to and delete the following two folders: 
a. The Shared Local Object (SLO) folder 

Mac:
/[USER]/Library/Preferences/sfdc-desktop*

Windows Vista and Windows 7:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\sfdc-desktop*

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\sfdc-desktop*

 
b. The Encrypted Local Store (ELS)

Mac:
/[USER]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/sfdc-desktop*

Windows Vista and Windows 7:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\AIR\ELS\sfdc-desktop*

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\ELS\sfdc-desktop*

 
3. Restart Chatter Desktop and make sure that the login is set to "Default" not Sandbox.
