Data.com: Duplicate records allowed while using Prospector

Description Why isn't Data.com picking up records I already have inside of my Salesforce?
Resolution By default, Data.com will prevent duplicates. You can update your preferences to allow duplicates for specific objects if needed under Data.com Prospector Preferences. Data.com recognizes a duplicate based on the Data.com Key, which is populated when a record is previously imported, or cleaned by Data.com. 

The Data.com Key field must be visible to the user importing in order for Data.com to pick it up. 

Administrators on Contact Manager, Group, or Professional Edition will also need to make sure that the Data.com Key field exists on their page layout to prevent duplicates.
  1. Go to Setup
  2. Customize
  3. Leads
  4. Click on Page layouts
  5. Find the Data.com Key in the Field list box and drag it onto the page layout
  6. Save
  7. Repeat for Contacts or Accounts
