Why do certain fields not show up in the Classic app

|Description||Salesforce mobile users can not see e.g. the Account Description field on their mobile devices despite the fact that the field is not among "Excluded Fields" in their Mobile Configuration.|
|Resolution||Only populated data fields are displayed when a salesforce record is viewed in the Mobile application. This is done to conserve space on the hand held screen and provide the most efficient and user friendly experience possible. Additional fields may be available when editing an existing record or creating a new record in the Mobile application.
If values are added to an existing record within Mobile, the additional populated fields will automatically become visible when viewing the record once the changes are saved.
If values are added to an existing record within the web-based salesforce application, the fields will automatically become visible when viewing the record in Mobile after the next hand held data update.
If you are unable to access populated data fields in the Mobile application that you can view and access from salesforce, these fields may have been removed from your Mobile page layout by your Mobile administrator or be unsupported in the Mobile application. Please contact your Mobile administrator for details about your Mobile page layout settings.
