Login to Salesforce for Outlook

After installing Salesforce for Outlook (SFO) , the Salesforce for Outlook icon is grayed out and there is a message regarding entering login information. Or if you have already logged in before to one org and would like to change your org to Sandbox or login to your org using My Domain or Single Sign on URL
Resolution Follow the steps below:

1- Right click on the Salesforce for Outlook red or gray icon in the System tray at the bottom right corner of your screen

2- By default you can login to your Production org. So simply enter your Salesforce username and password and click on Log in to Salesforce.

3- If you would like to login to your Sandbox, click on the Change URL drop down on top and select and enter your Salesforce username and password.

4- After you click on the Log in to Salesforce, on the next screen you need to click on Allow.
This will allow SFO to use your computer cache folder to place a cookie and to access your basic information, manage your data and perform request on your behalf (as you see on that screen) 
A few examples would be accessing your mailbox, adding email to Salesforce via Side Panel or Add email button and so on. If you click on Deny, you'll return to the previous step.

5- Click on Next, and choose the Contacts, Calendar and Tasks folders you want to use with Salesforce for Outlook.
By default the folders from your main Exchange email account are selected but you can click on the Change Folder button next to each and select or create a new folder in your main or other mailbox.
If you have not enabled sync in your Outlook configuration and only want to use the Side Panel you wont have any folders to select and you can click on Next
The folders will be grayed out if Outlook is not open. If Outlook is open and the Change Folder and their icon is grayed out, refer to this article

6- You can also click on the configuration link to see more details about how your Salesforce Administrator has configured your sync settings.
7- On the next screen, you can choose which Outlook items sync to Salesforce. "Sync All Outlook items" (Automatic sync) or "Sync only the Outlook items I select" (manual sync). Refer to this article for more information on which option to choose

8- you can also synchronize private records by checking the box next to "Include private ..." under each section.
you can check them and click Save.

9- Click close to finish the wizard
10- Your system tray SFO icon will turn red again and start spinning. It would not spin if you have not enabled the sync and only using SFO Side Panel, the Add Email, or the Create a Case button

The spinning red icon is indicates that SFO has started to synchronize your data
