How can I add a contact or lead custom field to the standard report Campaign with Campaign Members?

Resolution
By default, it is not possible to add a cross object custom field to a standard report.  If a User is looking to add a contact or lead custom field to the standard report Campaign with campaign members, the user needs to create a formula field on the campaign members object to reference the field created on contact or lead. Once the formula field is created it will be available for use within the standard report.

For example, if we wanted to include the Lead or Contact "Mobile" value in our Campaign with Campaign Members report we could:

1. Go to Setup | Customize | Campaigns | Campaign Members | Fields | [New]
2. Create a Formula field called "Member Mobile Phone", with the return type as Text, using syntax like:

IF ( NOT ( ISBLANK ( ContactId ) ),
Contact.MobilePhone ,
Lead.MobilePhone )

This formula will return the mobile phone of the Lead or Contact (whichever is referenced by the Campaign Member record), and since the value is returned in a field on the Campaign Member record it can be pulled using a Campaigns with Campaign Members report.
