What does it mean when a record is externally shared through Salesforce to Salesforce?
|Knowledge Article Number||000176476|
|Description||I see a notification bar at the top of a record: "This Account is externally shared. Received from (Organization) 03/26/2013." What does this mean?|
|Resolution||With Salesforce to Salesforce, organizations can share records. When a record has been accepted by an organization, the External Sharing related list will show details on which connections this record is shared with, and the sharing status. This is also displayed in the External Sharing related list from the organization owning the record.
In addition to the External Sharing related list, the organization that accepted the record will see a notification bar at the top of the record. This notification states the following:
"This (record) is externally shared. Received from (Organization) (Date)."
