|Knowledge Article Number||000176547|
You are using Salesforce for Social Media from the AppExchange and you are not able to import your wallposts, comments and private messages from Facebook.
You navigate to Social Setup | Troubleshooting | Facebook Logs, open the log and see this error:
System.DmlException: Insert failed. First exception on row 1; first error: STRING_TOO_LONG, Subject: data value too large:...(max length=255): [Subject]
Manual search by Facebook Page finished. Page Id:a069000000JpVSUAA3, Insert failed. First exception on row 2; first error: STRING_TOO_LONG, Subject: data value too large:...(max length=255): [Subject], Code Line:385
This error means you have Auto-Case Creation enabled and the Salesforce for Social Media is unable to create a case from the conversation.
When you have Auto-Case Creation enabled, Salesforce for Social Media creates a case from your Facebook wall posts and private messages and maps the contents to the 'Subject' field (Cases Object) which is a Standard field that has a maximum limit of 255 characters.
The error above means you have a wall post, comment or private message that exceeds 255 characters.
|Resolution||To resolve the issue you need to-
1. Delete the Wall post, comment or private message which exceeds 255 characters.
2. Disable Auto-Case Creation.
How to disable Auto-Case Creation-
1. Navigate to Social Setup | Facebook | <Facebook Page>.
2. Click Edit.
3. Remove the 'Enable Auto-Case Creation' check box from the page layout.
4. Click Save.
Once either of the steps above have been completed, you should be able to 'Get Conversations' normally.
