Topic Analysis Widget
When using a Topic Analysis widget you can display your data in a Pie Chart or a Bar Graph. Whichever format you choose, you will then be able to click on a pie or bar segment to access the View By menu.
Conversation Cloud Widget
From a Conversation Cloud you can click on a trending word to access the View By menu. The Conversation Cloud has fewer options in the View By menu than the Topic Analysis widget.
Topic Trends Widget
A Topic Trends widget will also supply a menu when you click on a line graph; however, you will only have two options: Open River of News and Open Conversation Cloud.
Definitions of View By Menu Options
All Insights (A-Z) - An alphabetical listing of the individual Insights offerings from each Insights provider.
Insights by Provider - A listing of all the third-party Insights providers as well as the free internal Insights providers.
Frequently Used Insights - A list of the individual Insights offerings that you have used most often.
Open a River of News - Launch a River of News from a pie or bar segment, or a trending word to listen to the posts that relate to the area you are drilling into.
Open Topic Trends - Launch a Topic Trends widget from a pie or bar segment, or a trending word to monitor when conversations spike and drop over time.
Open Conversation Cloud - From a Topic Analysis widget you will see the top trending words surrounding the pie or bar segment you drilled into. When using this View By menu option from a Conversation Cloud, you will see the top trending words surrounding the original word you drilled into.
View by Keyword Group - Separate your posts by Topic Profile Keyword Group. This option is useful for focusing on the designated sub-topics of your data. Note: This is only available in a Topic Analysis widget.
View by Language - Separate your posts by the language(s) you have selected in the Topic Profile Details tab. This option is useful when you are collecting posts in multiple languages.
View by Media Type - Separate posts by the media types you have selected in the Topic Profile Details tab. This option is useful for determining how much presence you have in different areas of the social web.
View by Post Tag - Separate posts by the individual post tags that have been applied from a River of News or the Engagement Console. This option is useful for reporting on the various types of posts that you have engaged with. (for example: Product X, Product Y).
View by Region - Separate posts by the global locations in which they have originated. This option is useful for identifying the areas of the world that are talking about your subject of interest. Note: If specific regions have been selected in the Topic Profile Details tab (as opposed to Include All) you will only be able to separate by those selected regions.
View by Source Tag - Separate posts by the individual Source Tags that have been applied to a post from a River of News or the Engagement Console. This option is useful for reporting on the various authors of posts with which you have engaged. (for example: Advocate, Critic). Note: "View by Source Tag" is only available when a Topic Profile or Twitter Managed Account is selected as a Data Source.
View by User Assignment - Separate posts by the individual users that have been assigned to a post from a River of News or the Engagement Console. This option is useful for reporting on user engagement and their case load.
View by Sentiment - Topic Profile Sentiment Subject - Separate your posts by Positive, Negative, Neutral, Somewhat Positive, and Somewhat Negative sentiment ratings when a Sentiment Subject has been set within the Topic Profile.
Hide Bar - Remove a specific bar from a Bar Graph. When launching the View By menu in a Pie Chart, the option will read as Hide Segment. This option is not available in a Conversation Cloud.
Choose Color - Choose a new color from the color palette for a pie or bar segment, or trending word. Use colors to strategize from a branding perspective, or a visual perspective when creating reports.
