Follow-up task not being created when "Logging A Call"

Description When "Logging a Call" the bottom part of the screen allows you to set up a Follow Up Task but the new task does not show up under the "Open Activities" Related List. 
Resolution This occurs when one of the following conditions occur:

1. The Standard Subject Field is not Populated in the Follow Up Section:

When creating Follow up Tasks on the Log a Call page, the Standard Subject Field must be populated. As the Subject of the Task is the Name of the record the Task will not be created if the Subject is un-populated and, as such, will not display under the "Open Activities" Related list.

This is currently working as designed. Should a change in functionality be desired, promote the Feature Request on the Ideas Exchange.


2. The Follow Up Task Record does not pass a Custom Validation Rule:

When the Follow Up Task record does not pass a Custom Validation Rule it will fail to be created silently and, as such, will not display under the "Open Activities" Related list.

This is currently working as designed. Should a change in functionality be desired, please log/ promote a Feature Request on the Ideas Exchange.
