Cannot merge accounts when using service cloud console

Description Merge account link is visible under the "Tools" menu when you open the Accounts tab in a normal app. However you won't be able to find the link under the Accounts tab of the service cloud console.
Resolution It is working as designed; there is no option to merge accounts in the service cloud console using the Merge Accounts link since the link itself is not available in the user interface of the service cloud console. Please see the following screenshots.

This also applies to all the tools in the "Tools" section like Import Data, Mass Delete Accounts, Transfer Accounts and Mass Email since the first thing you will see when you switch tabs in the Service Cloud Console is a list view.
