Partner Community User unable to login gets error- URL no longer exists

Description Error message, "URL no longer exists" when partner community user tries to login to salesforce.

This error is generally caused if you select "Use to create custom community pages" tab under Tabs & Pages.  If you choose Use to create custom community pages, the first page customers see is the Home Page selected in the Site Configuration for your community site. However if there's no sites created for community it will throw a URL no longer exists error while logging in to salesforce.
Resolution In order to resolve the issue the following steps need to be taken
  •     Click on Setup | Customize | Communities | All Communities | Manage Communities | Administration
  •     Click Tabs or Pages.
  •     To use standard tabs, select Use tabs.
  •     Save

These changes ensure that there is a Home Page where the user gets directed to.

After the changes the issue should be fixed
