Exporting User Profile System Permissions using the Data Loader

Description This article provides step-by-step instruction on how to export user profile system permissions using Dataloader.

Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer Editions

User Permissions Needed: 
"Modify All Data"

 
Resolution Step #1
-Login to Dataloader and select Export.

-Check the checkbox for 'Show all Salesforce objects'
-Select 'Profile (Profile)'
-Insert desired Export file name on the 'Choose a target for extraction' box
-Click Next

-Click 'Select all fields' to select all the system permissions that you want to include on the export file. (Recommended)
-You can also select permissions that you want to include on the export file.

-Click FINISH

-Click YES on the confirmation page

-Click VIEW EXTRACTION button to view the CSV file

-While viewing the CSV file on the default CSV viewer, you have the option to open the CSV file on your external file by clicking the "OPEN IN EXTERNAL PROGRAM" button.

-You should get a CSV file similar to this. Starting from the 3rd Column, those are the system permissions on the profiles that are exported.
