Forecast tab displaying inactive /deleted Product family values.
|Knowledge Article Number||000199046|
|Description||While trying to perform forecasting by product family, the data showing in the forecast tab may not match the product family in the organization.
Users may face an issue with the Collaborative forecast page displaying inactive picklist values when trying to forecast by product family.
They may face this problem even after they delete or replace the specific picklist values.
|Resolution||Collaborative Forecast by Product Family will show active and inactive Product Family picklist values.
This happens when an existing (active) Product Family value is deleted and not replaced at the same time.
The value remains in the picklist as an inactive value and continues to show in Collaborative Forecasts.
Likewise, if a Product is given a Product Family value which is not an active picklist value (such as through an API update), that value will become an inactive picklist value.
This explains what happened with most of the inactive values you may see in Collaborative Forecast.
If we do not choose a replacement value when deleting a Product Family, it remains within the Forecasts.
If you add the inactive value back to the picklist, then delete and replace that value, the inactive value will be cleared.
If we choose to replace the value, it is removed from the forecast and related forecasts are combined into the replacement value.
You will be prompted with this message when attempting to delete a Product Family:
"Are you sure you want to delete this product family?
If you replace a product family with a different one, you also delete any forecasting adjustments and quotas associated with it.
This action cannot be undone."
These values can be removed when you re-add, delete and replace them, thus removing them from Product Family picklist and the collaborative Forecast.
This can be done with the following steps:
The Forecast tab will then display the correct values as updated in the Product family.
