You or your organization has exceeded the maximum limit for this feature - Error when disabling a Partner or Customer Account

Description
When deactivating a Partner Account or Customer Account, you might receive the following error
 
Limit Exceeded
 
You or your organization has exceeded the maximum limit for this feature
Resolution
This occurs because of the number of Portal-enabled contacts linked to the Account.

Partner Accounts

You can disable the Account if it has less than 15 portal enabled users linked to it (regardless of whether these users are 'active' or not).

Customer Accounts

You can disable the Account if it has less than 100 portal enabled users linked to it (regardless of whether these users are 'active' or not).

In either case, you will need to first Disable the some users before you can disable the account. An easy way to do is by running a report of all users that are linked to a specific Account, export it and then set the 'IsPortalEnabled' field to False via the data loader or other API tool. Then you should be able to disable the Account.
