Replace published site.com site with new site.com site
|Knowledge Article Number||000199513|
|Description||I have cloned a published Site.com site, made some changes to the cloned site, and would like to publish it with no downtime. Is this possible?|
|Resolution||Yes, it's absolutely possible. After having published a Site.com site, replacing it with a different site is easy! Just edit the custom URL linked to the site via the domain management page for that domain to change the site from the old site to the new site.
After doing that, publishing the new site allows the published custom URL to seamlessly transition to the new site. The old site can be unpublished after that at any time, which helps free up a published Site.com site license.
Alternatively, removing the custom URL from within the studio's domain management and then adding it to the other site is also possible.
