Description
When a user attempts to view their own or another user's Chatter profile page they encounter a message stating, "This profile has no available tabs. Please contact your Salesforce administrator if this is an error."

Resolution

Profile tabs were introduced to the Chatter Profile Overview page with Winter '14.
 
This behavior may not be consistent when a user attempts to view their own or another user's Chatter Profile Page because two default Subtab Apps exist to accommodate the profile tab's functionality:
  • Profile (Others) - The app that's used to set visibility when a user views someone elses profile.
  • Profile (Self) - The app that's used to set visibility when a user views their own profile.

By default the Profile Feed and Profile Overview tabs are selected for both of the above Subtab Applications.  However, if a user's profile or permission set has these tabs or all the Subtab App's selected tabs set to 'Tab Hidden' they will encounter this message on the Chatter profile page.
