Why do I get the "Different format than specified by the file extension when Exporting a Report to Excel" message?
|Knowledge Article Number||000199628|
|Description||Usually this issue Occurs after a Microsoft Office upgrade. This Warning message is as intended by Microsoft, please see MS article here:
When the User attempts to export a Report in .xls format they are prompted with the following Warning Message.
"The file you are trying to open, '[filename].xls', is in a different format than the specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? "
If the User clicks "Yes" the file is downloaded as expected.
|Resolution||The warning message is a user-notification function that was added to Excel 2007. The warning message can help prevent unexpected problems that might occur because of possible incompatibility between the actual content of the file and the file name extension.
