Radian6 - Facebook - User Privacy Settings Prevent Crawling

Knowledge Article Number 000204974
Description Why are posts on our Managed Facebook Page not appearing in Social Studio or the Engagement Console? Why is the Facebook Inbox message have a blank username?
Resolution Facebook allows users to configure their privacy settings so data can not be accessed by any third party application that may crawl the content. This has two effects:

Missing Content

If a Facebook user updates their privacy settings to block third party applications, a post they make on your Facebook Page may not appear in your Social Studio Column or Radian6 Engagement Console Stack. It is visible on the Facebook Page it was posted to but no third party application is notified the post was created and therefore can not capture its content.

Facebook Inbox Message has Blank "From" Username

If a Facebook user updates their privacy settings to block third party applications and they send an inbox message, the username may appear blank. This is because they have protected their identity from third party applications by updating their settings, however, they are reaching out directly so the post is received.
