Side Panel won't auto-search contacts, leads, or any other related object
|Knowledge Article Number||000205325|
|Description||The Side Panel has stopped automatically searching for matching contact and leads after an email is selected. Instead, it spins for a little while, then displays the error message "No Matching Contacts or Leads in Salesforce". The Side Panel won't display any related objects either, like Opportunities, Tasks, or Cases.
However, Global Search will successfully find records when searching the contact's email address or name.
A likely cause of this odd behavior is the object access permissions or the Field Level Security (FLS) selected for the user's profile. There are a few objects the Side Panel must have access to, as well as a few fields it uses to search for records and sort the results. If the Side Panel doesn't have access to one of these fields or objects, the search will fail, and the error message "No Matching Contacts or Leads in Salesforce" will be displayed.
To remediate this problem, make sure the user profile you are troubleshooting has at least read access to the following objects:
Additionally, make sure the profile has FLS rights to the fields listed below. For example, to grant FLS permissions on the Contact Email field, do the following:
