Add a link in an HTML with letterhead email template

Description Inserting a link makes it easy for the readers to get supporting information, without having to type all of the information out on the same page. We'll walk you through how to make your email template more enriching by adding links to text and images. 
Resolution Alert icon Before you get started - Create a new HTML email template and make sure the image is uploaded to Salesforce Documents.
  1. Type your text into the body of the template or insert the image you'd like to become a link.
  2. Highlight the text you want to turn into a link. 
  3. Click on the Insert a Link button User-added image
  4. Enter the destination path or URL
  5. Click OK
  6. Click Save
​​Test by clicking on the "Send Test and Verify Merge Fields" button. Make sure to check Send email preview to and enter your email address.

At this time Links embedded in Images cannot be created in Google Chrome browser using the standard steps.  Please follow these steps to embed hyperlinked images:

1. Type the text you want to hyperlink (eg, "Click here for help")
2. Hyperlink your text  as indicated above
3. Highlight the text, click on the image tool, and replace it with the image you want to use 
4. This will insert the image and will retain the Hyperlink tag
