Account Source field is not available within Standard Report Activities with Accounts

Description Account Source field is not available on "Activities with Accounts" Standard report type

Account Source field is hidden by default to all profiles including the system administrator. Hence this is not visible in any of the standard report type on accounts.
Resolution To have the "Account Source" field visible on account reports do the following steps:

Making the Account Source Field visible to required Profile
  • Click on Your Name (Top right hand side) >> Set Up >> Administration Setup >> Security Controls >> Field Accessibility
  • Choose Account >> View by Fields >> Account Source
  • Choose the Field Access for the required profile - Read Only Or Editable as per requirement
Making the field available in page layout
  • Click on Your Name (Top right hand side) >> Set Up >> App Setup >> Accounts >> Page Layouts
  • Edit the appropriate page layouts you want this field to be available in
Once done Create a Custom Report Type with Account as primary object and Activities is secondary object

Now build a report on this report type and you can add the Account Source field to this report
