Unable to Activate Product. Getting Error Message

Description User gets an error when activating a product

An internal server error has occurred with ID similar to one below

Error ID: *********-***** (-1338027796)
Resolution The ending number of the error -1338027796 indicates that user's profile must have "Edit" on Price book object
  • Click on Name | Set Up | Administration setup
  • Click on Manager Users | Users
  • Look for the affected User
  • Click on the profile of that user
  • Once in the Profile Click on Edit | Price Book
  • Ensure that "Edit" is checked
  • Click Save
Once this is done the error must be resolved. If still it happens check the Organization Wide Default
  • Click on Name | Set Up | Administration Setup
  • Click On Security Controls | Sharing Settings
  • Check the Default Internal Access Under Price Book
  • It should be set to Use
If not set it to Use and wait for system to complete the back end processing

System administrator will receive the notification about the completion
