Configuration Test: Authentication Failed

For version 2011+, an error is displayed after selecting the "Test Authentication" option.

This is caused by the Marketing Cloud API User for the Integration not having all of the necessary permissions. To resolve the issue, an Administrator can update the Marketing Cloud API User's permissions. 

Modify User Permissions

1. Log into Marketing Cloud and go to Welcome [Your Name] | Administration.
2. Under Account, select Users.
3. Select the checkbox for the User Account used as the API User for the Integration.
4. Click Manage Roles.
5. Under Roles, click Edit Roles.
6. Select each of the following Roles:
  • Administrative Data Management
  • Grant the user access to the web services
  • Manage Data Extension Data and Retention Policy
  • Marketing Cloud Administrator
7. Click Save.
