Current Approver unable to edit locked record after updating record editability for an Approval Process

Description When you update an active Approval Process record editability to allow Admins and the current approver edit access on a locked record, the approver is not able to edit on records that are were previously pending approval. They receive the following error:
Record Locked
The record you are trying to edit has been locked. Please contact your administrator if access is necessary. 

Resolution When updating this setting on existing Approval Processes it is important to note that this applies to records submitted for approval AFTER you save these changes. Any records submitted for approval before making the changes adhere to the original settings of the Approval Process. In order to resolve this you would need to first recall the approval request and then resubmit for approval. The Current Approver should then be able to edit the record.
