Why can’t I drill down to the report for the selected State/Province or Country?

|Resolution||This behavior is observed only in those Salesforce instances where State and Country Picklist feature is enabled and all states are not configured with the State Code.
To be able to drill down to the selected record we can use following workaround.
If we closely observe the report, we understand that when we drill down to the report with state or country fields it actually filters the report with the state code or country code respectively. If all the states and countries are not configured with the correct state and country codes then drill down functionality do not work in those Salesforce instances.
Hence to make this report work correctly, we need to use the “Text only” fields for State/Province or Country.
