Enabling Use Apex Lead Convert

There are situations where an Organization would like the Lead Conversion action to trigger Apex actions such as Workflow and Validation Rules.
If you are converting Leads and you wanted to enforce the Validation Rule, you need to enable "Require validation for Converted Leads".

To enable the "Require validation for Converted Leads"
  1. Go to your Name | Set-up | Customize | Leads | Settings
  2. Enable "Require validation for Converted Leads"
  3. Click on Save.

If the said setting is not available, please contact Salesforce Support to enable the "Use Apex Lead Convert" permission.
Resolution To request Salesforce.com Support to enable the "Use Apex Lead Convert" permission, please take the following steps:

1- Verify that the Organization where you want the feature to be enabled is on an edition where the feature is available.
2- Have a System Administrator to log a Case with Salesforce Support
3- Please mark as "feature activation" on the General Application Area

On the case description, please specify:
  • Feature requested: Use Apex Lead Convert
  • Organization ID where you want the limit to be increased (Navigate to Setup > Company Profile > Company Information):
  • I am the system admin in charge of this feature.

4- Our Support Team will review the Case and action the request as needed.
