Why is the Start field not displaying on the Open Activities related list?

Description Users are unable to see the Start column on the Open Activities related list on a record, even though the field has been added to the related list via the object's Page Layout editor. 
Resolution The Start field is unique in the fact that both the Start field from the Event object and the Due Date field from the Task object have to be visible via the viewing User's Profile. If the User does not have visibility to either of those fields, the Start field will not display in the records related list.
