Why do Case Number and Case Created Date not appear in the Console Case Feed?

Description When using the Service Cloud Console and Case Feeds, the Case Number and Case Created Date are not visible in the Highlights Panel of the Case Detail page:

This behavior is different outside of the Console when viewing a Case detail page with Case Feeds:

Resolution This is expected, hard-coded behavior.

The reason Case Number and Case Created Date do not appear in the Console Feed is because the information is readily accessible/duplicated in the Console tab and List view, where it is not visible when elsewhere while viewing a Case outside of the Console.
