How an Unsubscribe Reason is populated in a Marketing Cloud report

The "UnsubReason" field in a Marketing Cloud report is populated two different ways:

1. A Marketing Cloud application user (you or your staff) goes into an individual subscriber's record and manually enters a reason longhand (e.g. "Customer doesn't like the color orange."). 

2. It can also be filled through the API, and there will be a number code which corresponds to the METHOD in which a subscriber elects to be unsubscribed, as opposed to a REASON (e.g. an unsubscribe button vs. clicking on an anchor tag/link).
