Files Connect: unable to see an external datasource in Chatter

Description An external datasource is defined for an org, but not visible in the Files section in Chatter.

Cause: Since Summer '15, external datasource access is subject to a per-user access restriction, if per-user access on that datasource is active.

Resolution Go to the detail page of the permission set or profile:
  • For a permission set, in the Apps section, click External Data Source Access.
  • For a profile, go to the Enabled External Data Source Access related list.
Click Edit, add the data sources you want users to access and authenticate with, and click Save.
