Delete all subscribers from Marketing Cloud Email

While it's possible to delete all subscribers in the Marketing Cloud email application, we generally advise against it.

Resolution

 

Before you delete all subscribers

 

  • The process can't be reversed or undone.
  • All previous subscriber statuses will be lost.
  • You're responsible for following all local email sending regulations regarding subscriber status.

 

Steps to delete all subscribers from Marketing Cloud Email

 

 1. In Marketing Cloud Email, select Subscribers | All Subscribers.
 2. Export the "All Subscribers" list. For full instructions, see our "How to Export a List" help documentation.
 3. Create a new list and name it "To Be Deleted". For full instructions, see our "How to Create a List" help documentation.
 4. Import the exported "All Subscriber" file into the "To Be Deleted" list. For full instructions, see our "How to Import Subscribers Into a List" help documentation.
 5. Once the import is complete, click the refresh button in your Internet browser.
 6. In Marketing Cloud Email, select Subscribers | Lists.
 7. Click To Be Deleted.
 8. Select the "To Be Deleted" checkbox.
 9. Click Delete.
10. In the dialogue box, select the Delete all subscribers in the selected lists from the application checkbox.
11. Click Delete.
