Can you include Self-Service Portal Users in Validation Rules?

Description Is it possible to reference SSP Users in Validation Rules to either include them or exclude them? 
Resolution Unfortunately, SSP Users cannot be referenced in Validation Rules. An SSP User isn't the same as normal Salesforce Users because they don't have a User record or a Profile. Since the SSP User isn't a traditional User, we use the User assigned to the "Automated Case User" under Setup | Build | Cases | Support Settings. When the Validation Rule is fired, it's fired in the context of that "Automated Case User" and not the SSP User. This is expected functionality.
