Why do I see changes from the Automated Process user in my org's Setup Audit Trail or elsewhere in my org?

|Description||Customers may observe that the Automated Process user is credited with actions in the Setup Audit Trail or that this user appears in the Last Modified field on certain setup records in their organization.|
|Resolution||This is a normal and expected part of how Salesforce maintains an organization. The user exists at the time that an organization is created and may be used by Salesforce to make automated system-level changes in the course of providing services and features present in an organization.
Examples of updates the user may make:
- Updates to Salesforce packages such as the Salesforce1 and Chatter packages.
- Creating Chatter Free users from an email invite.
- Assignment of Live Agent transcripts.
- Updating page layouts after a custom field is deleted.
