Why is my "Send Notification" checkbox still missing or not available on the Task Page Layout

|Description||Users may note that the "Send Notification Email" is still unavailable upon creating or editing tasks despite an administrator disabling the feature "Enable User Control over Task Assignment Notifications" in the org's activity settings.
|Resolution||An administrator may need to select the "Email Notification Checkbox" for the user's assigned task page layout's properties by navigating to:
Setup, Customize | Activities | Task Page Layouts:
1. Click the Edit link next to the name of the Page Layout assigned to the affected user(s)
2. Click the Layout Properties button in the page layout's palette on the upper portion of the screen
3. Make sure the option to "Show on edit page" for the Email Notification Checkbox is selected and optionally choose your preference for "Select by default"
