Why am I getting the message "Your organization is unable to use Checkout to create quotes due to the presence of multiple active contracts" when accessing checkout?

Description When I navigate to Checkout (Setup | Checkout | Proceed to Checkout), my web browser displays the following error:
 
Checkout Home - Your organization is unable to use Checkout to create quotes due to the presence of multiple active contracts, but your Sales Representative/Account Executive can still publish quotes which you can view and accept here.

Why am I getting this message?
Resolution The Checkout feature is available only when a Salesforce customer account is connected with one or fewer active contracts.

Therefore, this message displays whenever you try to access Checkout from a Salesforce customer account that is associated with more than one active contract. 

If you receive this message and need to make changes to your account, you can contact your Salesforce Account Executive who can assist you with orders or changes.
