Salesforce for Outlook - Unable to connect to Check the URL and your Internet connection and try again

Users see the following error when they try to login to Salesforce for Outlook (SFO)

Root Cause
TLS is not configured correctly in Internet Explorer Settings
Resolution Apply the TLS setting below to the Internet Explorer | Advance tab | Security section and restart IE and SFO and try to login again.

- Press and hold down the Windows key and then hit the R key on your keyboard to bring up the RUN box then type in Inetcpl.cpl to open up Internet Explorer settings.

- Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to go to the Security section and then check the box for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.
- Click on Ok and restart IE.
- Then restart SFO and try
